Our client is a small organisation based on the Northside of Brisbane, and they are looking for an Accountant who will play a critical role in maintaining and overseeing all financial aspects of their operations.
This position requires proficiency in a mid-level accounting software package as well as experience managing departmental and multi-entity accounts.
The successful candidate will possess a strong analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and the ability to collaborate with multiple department heads to ensure financial clarity and accuracy across all operations.
About the role:
- Financial Operations Oversight including maintenance of financial operations, including Accounts Receivable (AR) and Accounts Payable data entry and payroll teams (AP).
- Reporting including collaborating with the Managing Director on end-of month and end-of-year processes, budgeting, Profit and Loss (P&L) reporting, and other financial presentations. Your insights will drive strategic decision-making.
- Auditing Assistance including working hand-in-hand with the company's external Business/Taxation Accountants is essential in ensuring on time Monthly, Quarterly and end of year BAS, Payroll tax, audits, reporting and lodgement requirements.
- R&D Grant Funding including assisting and collaborating with our R&D specialist on calculations and financial reports for R&D grant funding. Contribute to the financial success of innovative projects.
- Bank Reconciliation including maintaining up-to-date bank reconciliations and meticulous accounts receivable records.
- Payment Processing including handling payment files, ensuring timely payments and flawless financial transactions.
- Budgeting Leader including taking the lead on project and department budgets, guiding strategic decision-making.
- Cash Flow Report Maintenance including having a clear view of the company's financial position. Your experience and expertise will ensure appropriate cash management.
- Financial Modelling: forecast financial position based on different scenarios.
- You will have a strong systematic mindset and attention to detail to navigate multi-entity and department accounting with precision.
- You will have strong stakeholder engagement skills, as you will be working with department heads to ensure financial clarity and precision across our operations. Your ability to collaborate is crucial to this role.
- You will have intermediate to advanced IT skills including a mid-tier accounting software package.
- You will have strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- You will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- You will have a Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. CPA or equivalent is highly regarded.
