Company Accountant - Commercial Real Estate

Gorman Commercial, a leading name in the Real Estate industry, is seeking a talented individual to join our dynamic team as a Company Accountant. Reporting into the General Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day financial management of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

Reporting into the General Manager, your responsibilities in this “hands on” role will include:

• Oversee all accounting matters, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards
• Financial reporting consisting of cash flows, budgets, variance analysis, monthly financial statements and board reporting
• General ledger administration using MYOB 
• All aspects of the payroll function including calculation and payment of salaries and commission, superannuation and payroll tax 
• Monthly and quarterly reconciliation and submission of Business Activity Statements (BAS)
• Liaise with banks regarding finance and yearly covenants
• Work together with the General Manager to conduct regular financial analysis to identify trends, variances and opportunities for improvement
• Co-ordinate with auditors and tax professionals during audits and tax filings

Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in accounting
• CPA certification preferred
• Minimum of five years of experience in accounting or finance roles
• Proficiency in accounting software (MYOB) or similar product and Microsoft Excel
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
