Position Title: Compliance Manager

Overview: Group Colleges Australia is seeking a diligent and experienced Compliance Manager to ensure adherence to regulatory standards within the higher education sector. The ideal candidate will possess comprehensive knowledge of the Australian regulatory framework, including the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act, National Code, and the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS). The Compliance Manager will play a critical role in maintaining the institution's compliance with these regulations, fostering a culture of accountability and integrity.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the ESOS Act, National Code, and CRICOS regulations.
2. Monitor changes in legislation and regulatory requirements pertaining to higher education compliance and update institutional policies accordingly.
3. Conduct regular audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with regulatory standards, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
4. Provide guidance and training to staff members on compliance-related matters, fostering a culture of compliance throughout the institution.
5. Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies, managing inquiries, inspections, and reporting requirements.
6. Collaborate with academic departments and administrative units to ensure compliance with regulatory standards in program delivery, admissions, student support services, and other relevant areas.
7. Oversee the maintenance of accurate and up-to-date records related to compliance activities, ensuring documentation is readily available for audits and reporting purposes.
8. Develop and implement strategies to address compliance risks and mitigate potential issues before they arise.
9. Stay informed about best practices and emerging trends in higher education compliance, incorporating relevant insights into institutional practices.
10. Foster strong relationships with external stakeholders, including government agencies, accrediting bodies, and industry organizations, to stay abreast of regulatory developments and industry standards.

Qualifications:

1. Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in higher education compliance, with a focus on the ESOS Act, National Code, and CRICOS regulations.
2. Demonstrated understanding of Australian higher education regulatory requirements and their implications for institutional operations.
3. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory documents and apply them to practical situations.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels of the organization.
5. Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
6. Experience in conducting compliance audits, risk assessments, and implementing compliance-related training programs.
7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
