We are seeking a Full Time Compliance Officer to join our professional team based in Beresfield, Newcastle (NSW). 

Your focus will be to ensure the Company is compliant with ASQA & Safework NSW as well as support administration.

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced vocational education (VET) Compliance and Administration professional to work as a Compliance Officer at Newcastle Rescue.

Reporting to the CEO, the Compliance Officer role will be responsible for implementing the compliance of administration processes that meet our education based regulatory obligations. In turn, achieving this will quality assure our focus on quality education outcomes for our students.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 The role of Compliance Officer is responsible for the following, but not limited to:

  • Ensuring the overall integrity on an ongoing basis of the student data held in our Student Management System, WISENET. 
  • Managing weekly uploads of student data to SharePoint from National and International students.
  • Supervising the student support and administration team and providing support to the business support team.
  • Student Administration activities include supporting to implement, maintain, and monitor policies and procedures that meet the Standards for Registered Training Organisations 2015, and all other relevant legislation and regulations. 
  • Administering student academic progress in conjunction with the Training Coordinator, and the student support and administration team.
  • The processing of learner details and course offers as well as correct data entry to avoid Avetmiss errors.
  • Strong knowledge of Wisent, SharePoint, MS Office 365, Xero & Google calendar are required for this role.
  • Total VET Activity Reporting.
  • Quality Indicator Reporting/Submission
  • Annual Declaration on Compliance.
  • Communicate and implement any changes to regulatory requirements with other staff members.
  • Maintain trainer qualification register annually – ensure all trainers and assessors hold and maintain currency in relevant qualifications and units of competency.
  • Manage the RTO scope of registration efficiently – this includes reviewing our scope regularly and communicating changes.
  • Submit any required applications to ASQA (including submission for change of scope, change of details and renewal applications).
  • Submit required data reports including:
  • Maintain and implement continuous improvement.
  • Course writing, including mapping course performance criteria and assessment tools, developing (TAS) training and assessment strategies, liaising with different industry representatives/sectors.

 Key selection criteria and attributes of the Successful Candidate:

At least 3 years of RTO compliance and administration experience in an environment that welcomes students from a diverse variety of backgrounds, nationalities, and cultures. 

TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or its successor); and BSB51607 Diploma of Quality Auditing (or its successor). 

Strong, hands-on experience in uploading and troubleshooting.

Excellent proficiency in using WISENET, especially in relation to maintaining accurate student data.

Strong understanding of AVETMISS.

Ability to implement change in a dynamic education environment. 

Demonstrated ability to participate in a dynamic environment and meet targets and deadlines.

Ability to gain support and cooperation from others.

Excellent computer skills.

Oral and written communication skills including report writing, 

Ability to analyse situations and implement workable solutions.

Proven ability to support and manage internal and external audits.
