Use your knowledge and understanding of the NSW Environmental Planning and Assessment Act to communicate relevant legislation and regulation to stakeholders within the community.
About the role:
- Responsible for compliance action in relation to development and building matters, and resolving complaints regarding compliance concerns.
- Provide advice and guidance to stakeholders regarding the application of statutory codes and the policies which regulate development and building processes within the Tweed Shire.
- Obtain and present evidence in relation to legal proceedings on behalf of Council in the Local Court and the Land and Environment Court to ensure compliance with legislation.

We are seeking:
- Tertiary qualifications in town planning, building, environmental engineering, environmental protection or law or nearing completion.
- Demonstrated competence with legislative interpretation.
- Experience in a compliance related field.
- Experience in the presentation of evidence including statements of evidence in relation to legal proceedings.
Where it's located:
This position is based in Murwillumbah and can be directed to work from any Council work site.
