About the position
The Compliance Officer position will be responsible for investigating, monitoring, and enforcement of environmental health, local law, animal management, regulated parking and development legislation.
This position will work under general direction.
- The salary range for this position is $77,223.52 - $82,594.58 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.
- This is a Permanent Full time position based in the Toowoomba CBD.

How to be successful in this position - Success Criteria

- Demonstrated ability to gain a working knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
- High level written and oral communication skills including demonstrated skill in production of investigation report writing.
- An aptitude to identify and seek opportunities to improve and accept change where improvement is identified.
- Demonstrated ability to research and collect appropriate data, prioritise work, use own initiative, and contribute insightful, innovative, and creative ideas to solve problems and make informed outcome focused decisions in a consistent, objective, and timely manner showing diligence, care, and attention.
- Proven ability to undertake a range of activities including inquiries and investigations, utilising evidence gathering techniques, initiative, judgement, and decision making to achieve appropriate outcomes.
- Demonstrated commitment to delivering quality services to the community and other branches of Council with integrity and respect.
- An aptitude and confidence to competently deal with difficult and sensitive situations.
- High level of adaptability and flexibility i.e. able to work outside ordinary hours and/or provide support to Council as required.
- Demonstrated commitment to teamwork and the maintenance of a collaborative and supportive work environment by developing effective work relations with internal and external stakeholders and display a positive and solution focused attitude during those interactions.
- Understanding of and commitment to Council’s Organisational Value and Behaviour of Accountability.
