About Mental Health Coordinating Council
Mental Health Coordinating Council is the peak body for mental health community-based organisations across New South Wales. MHCC champions community-based, non-government organisations who work to support better outcomes for people living with mental health conditions. Mental Health Coordinating Council is a Registered Training Organisation delivering Nationally Recognised Training and Non-Accredited Training throughout NSW.
About the Role
The Compliance Officer is responsible for maintaining MHCC Learning and Development (LD) status as a registered training organisation (RTO) and ensuring measures are in place for ongoing compliance of the RTO and associated funding contracts including Smart and Skilled contracts. You will be part of the Learning and Development (LD) unit responsible for providing a high level of support across all teams and participants to ensure all key training objectives are met. This includes driving compliance in all training activities and forecast training requirements in alignment with operational needs and managing calendars for trainers. This may also include but is not limited to assistance with key projects and initiatives. A key component of the role is building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
About You
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working within an RTO environment, preferably with Smart and Skilled contracts
• Excellent time management, attention to detail and organisational skills with an ability to meet deadlines
• Manages varied and conflicting demands to meet agreed standards and timelines
• High level of communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to establish positive relationships with students, trainers, colleagues and supervisors
• Well-developed computer and digital skills especially in all aspects of Microsoft Office Suite and an ability to perform accurate and efficient data entry and reports
• Commitment to excellence and accuracy at all times, demonstrating initiative to problem solving
• Ability to interpret and embed RTO, State Training Services and other funding body requirements into Learning and Development policies and procedures in consultation with the LD Manager to ensure compliance
Selection Criteria
• Hold the TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualification or willingness to obtain
• Previous experience working in a similar role in the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector or a Learning and Development environment
• Sound knowledge of the RTO Standards 2015 and how these apply in practice
• Experience using and managing Student and Learning Management Systems, and ability to learn new systems
• Managing participant and trainer communications pre-course, throughout enrolment/attendance and post-course
• Strong attention to detail and accurate and efficient administration skills
• Demonstrated ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and provide student support
• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and plan, manage project tasks, and meet deadlines
• Conduct annual internal audits and spot checks across the RTO to ensure compliance requirements are maintained and recommendations are implemented
• Coordinate the preparation for external audits for ASQA, State Training Services and other funders and facilitate audits from MHCC's end
