Solid Foundation Concreting is built around supporting people/families/buildings. Currently we have 50 Solid families, Solid’s aim is to maintain a team of greater than 80% A Grade Players. Solid is a private Company that has been trading now for over a decade, with a revenue of approximately 30 million and estimates our growth to hit 42 million within 3 years. We are experts in contracting to tier 2 builders, constructing basements, factories, suspended slabs, Commercial Projects supplying concreting needs from high end Residential homes, and large Commercial Markets as well as the Industrial sector. Solid services the needs of Developers, Owner Builders, and Construction Companies by offering on time everytime, together with a highest standard and best to deal with philosophy.
About the role
Solid Foundation Concreting is in the Port Melbourne area, your responsibilities as Concrete Structure/Retention Foreman will include, but not limited to:
- Deliver a project on time, on budget. Fluent understanding of engineering and steel reinforcement details. Fluent reading of architectural and set out plans
- Lead toolboxes, ITP's and have full OHS knowledge and practice
- Respond to document transmittals, document variations and respond to on-site issues
- Ability to manage and supervise all staff and subcontractors involved in the concrete installation process of your project, this requires knowing how to motivate others and being able to handle conflict among workers.
- Order materials with suppliers. Determine construction methodology, generating clear and detailed site records, daily site diaries
- Understanding all stages of managing a construction project, assigning staff, reviewing scope, understanding back-charges, planning project phases, signing off with customers
- Must have strong knowledge of concrete strucure
- Being hands on, and on the ground foreman is absolutely essential for this role
- Adhering with OHS procedures at all times, and ensure your onsite crew also abides
To Be Successful
- Proven experience in high end concrete strucures, ground & first floor suspended slabs, pouring pier holes, stairs and retention systems
- Able to interpret all job documentation such as drawings, schedules, site instructions and shop drawings
- Be analytically minded - analysing blueprint and ensuring a project meets all specifications requires critical thinking. When the project schedule goes off track, Structure Foreman must have the ability to analyse how to rearrange activities or add resources to prevent delays
- Trade qualification and degree would be an advantage but not completeley necessary if proven practical experience is present
- Must have great presentation and communication skills
- MUST COME FROM A CONCRETE BACKGROUND, EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE IN CONCRETE STRUCTURES!!
