About the Company
Element Construction WA PTY LTD is a small family owned boutique building company that has been operating for 14 years within the commercial and residential building industry. We are based in Bayswater and specialise in timber framed construction as well as additions, renovations, commercial construction, fitouts and maintenance. We have 12 full time staff including accounts manager, building supervisor, construction manager, contracts administrator, carpenters and apprentices and are looking for an Estimator/Scheduler to join our friendly hard working team
About the Role
The role will see you working closely with our in-house Estimator/Project Manager who has extensive experience in all aspects of construction. You will also work in close liaison with management, project managers, architects, clients and subcontractors and will have the opportunity to work on a variety of unique projects within the Residential and Commercial construction industry. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication & technical skills and be passionate about making a difference. We are really looking for someone with a minimum of 3 years experience in Estimating/Scheduling who is keen to learn more on the job and is keen to grow with the company.
Tasks and Responsibilities
- Produce accurate bill of quantities
- Review job costings and documentation to ensure accuracy
- Process on site variations
- Provide support to the Construction Team
- Ensure accurate take offs of material quantities from plans
- Obtain quotes from suppliers
- Issuing orders to suppliers
- Creating and maintaining a schedule for construction projects, including timelines and deadlines.
- Monitor progress of ongoing projects and adjusting schedules as necessary
- Tracking and maintaining project documentation, such as permits, contracts and invoices
- Resolving scheduling conflicts or delays that may arise
- Collaborating with project managers and site supervisors to ensure smooth operations
- Providing assistance with daily queries and orders to the Site Supervisors
- Assist our Estimator/Scheduler and Project Manager in various projects
- Develop your skills in reading plans and taking off construction quantities
- Help develop financial budgets and update as required
- Ensure quality control and compliance
- Engage in subcontractor procurement
- Be involved with procuring and putting together tender responses
- Work with the management team on project completion to improve estimating accuracy and construction outcomes
About You
- Previous experience in a construction related estimating, project management, or scheduling, role.
- Previous experience with PlanSwift & Buildertrend would be preferred
- Be self-motivated with a strong work ethic
- Excellent computer literacy skills
- The ability to communicate effectively at all levels
- Very good written and verbal communication
- Eager and willing to learn and grow within the role and company.
- Be self-motivated, solution focused and have a positive attitude
- Reliable, punctual, and have excellent work ethic
- Comprehensive knowledge of building methods, processes, and materials
