Job Description
The Construction Project Manager's role is to run the projects from start to finish. Firstly, CPM is required to coordinate internally with the operations, purchasing and other managers to ensure that the right material is being procured, fabricated, and delivered to the site promptly. Secondly, as a CPM, you are required to liaise with external contractors to make sure that they are meeting our quality assurance requirements. Lastly, the position is required to coordinate with the clients to make sure that steel is being delivered to the site per the erection methodology and site conditions.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Read and interpret structural and architectural drawings to prepare bids for builders.
- Manage the scope of works for the projects and provide clarifications on exclusions and special provisions in the contract for the builder.
- Manage the variation works issued by the builder, which includes keeping track of the additional materials, labour and cartage required to carry them out.
- Coordinating labour resources, and procurement and delivery of materials, plant, and equipment
- Coordinating with builders, architects, engineers, and drafters to clear up RFIs and get the shop drawings required for the project.
- Assisting with the erection methodology of the project and lotting the members accordingly to ensure that the steel members are delivered to the site in the correct order.
- Negotiating with building owners, property developers and subcontractors involved in the construction process to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
- Managing the documents of the project, keeping track of any revisions made and preparing a structural changes variation based on the changes made between the tender drawings and construction issue drawings.
- Overseeing the progress of subcontractors' work and keeping track of the certificates received from them to ensure that their work is up to Australian Standards.
- Assist with creating the monthly progress report to keep track of the overall progression of the projects and prepare the invoice for the client.
- Contribute to the overall growth and success of the company by proactively contributing ideas and areas for continuous improvement and development.
- Maintain a safe working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Contribute to team effort by working with others to achieve results as needed.
- Masters in construction management (Preferred)
- Bachelor's degree in civil/Structural Engineering
- At least 3 years of working experience in a similar environment.
