The Role:
Our Construction Supervisor is a key member of the Ecoliv Construction team who is responsible for the execution of multiple construction projects simultaneously and coordination of all day-to-day construction activities, including necessary administration, implementation of OH&S, quality and environmental procedures.
- Responsibility for the day-to-day activities on the construction site
- Coordinating of suppliers, contractors and employees for project completion, in alignment with project schedules
- Act as the point of contact for sub-contractors, leading hand carpenters and other departments in relation to projects and as required
- Maintain construction progress and report concerns to the Construction Manager on a weekly basis
- Identify and quantify variations and report them to the Construction Manager immediately
- Manage the labour scheduling of Ecoliv employees, contracted labour and other company resources for project completion
- Responsible for the quality of workmanship onsite, during the execution of construction projects
- Responsible for ensuring the adherence to safety policies and practices of all people onsite during the execution of construction projects, including completion of SWMS for all projects. Report any non-compliance to Construction Manager
- Responsible for the protection of the environment onsite during the execution of construction projects
- Conduct and maintain a register of site inductions
- Sign off invoices for purchase orders raised
- Conduct weekly Toolbox Meetings
- Attend Site Meetings, as directed by the Construction Manager
- Take and store photographs of significant moments in the construction including weekly progress photographs
- Assist the Construction Manager in the assessment and identification of the training needs of construction team employees
- Work with the Construction Manager to establish measurable long/short term targets, monitor progress, and measure performance.
Competencies required:
- Working knowledge of prefabricated construction and carpentry construction practices
- Excellent time management, prioritisation and organisational skills
- Professionally spoken, excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Leadership and management experience
- Demonstrate accuracy and confidence under pressure
- Demonstrate initiative and thoroughness
- Can do attitude, attention to detail and willingness to be versatile in duties
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to changes and work at a fast pace in peak times
- Competent in MS Outlook, Excel and Word and working knowledge of construction software programs, such as Framework
Experience required:
- 10+ years of experience in residential construction, ideally with prefabricated construction
- 5+ years trade background experience (preferable)
- Prior experience in a site leadership or management position
- Valid Driver’s Licence
