Job Title: Transmission Line Manager
Role Purpose: The Transmission Line Manager oversees construction operations within a designated geographical or functional area to ensure successful delivery of customer projects.
This role leads a small team of Construction Supervisors and up to 30 team members across multiple project sites, fostering a culture of safety, efficiency, innovation, and results orientation. The Manager also plays a key role in identifying and securing future work opportunities, collaborating closely with the SBDG team, maintaining strong customer relationships, and serving as a liaison between the company and clients.
Key Objectives:
- Manage daily labour resource allocations in alignment with project demands, considering the labour requirements of the project pipeline, and actively seek opportunities for future projects.
- Contribute to tender and budget planning by detailing construction methods and expected productivity.
- Manage and report on project construction progress, ensuring that employees and contractors possess appropriate skills, training, and licenses.
- Provide input on project design and construction methods for optimal safety, productivity, and quality results.
- Actively manage direct reports and team members, including performance management, recognition, and development.
Key Relationships and Areas of Influence:
- Maintain close working relationships with Project Managers, Supervisors, and Project Support Officers across ongoing projects.
- Cultivate effective business relationships with key subcontractors and clients to ensure successful project outcomes and secure repeat business.
- Collaborate with Design and Estimating teams to provide input on constructability and productivity.
Role Specific Competencies:
- Thorough knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies and procedures.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and people management skills.
- Proficient in contract/project management, planning, scheduling, forecasting, business management, reporting, customer management, and negotiation.
- Specific expertise in power systems construction.
- Competent in HR systems and processes.
