Rogers Transport is a family-owned business that started in 1985 and has grown to over 55 trucks and 70 staff. As a family business, Rogers Transport focuses on developing long term supportive relationships with our customers and has a reputation for providing superior service to our customers and their clients.
We currently have a unique opportunity for an experienced Container Operations Manager to both run and manage the container division of the business. This is a senior, but hands on role, reporting directly to the General Managers, with a negotiable salary matched to your skills and experience.
This role will be based at our current Lytton depot, with a move to our purpose built facility at the beginning of April 2024.
Key Duties will include but not limited to:
· Booking of timeslots with wharfs.
· Allocation of drivers to jobs.
· Collection of empty containers.
· Liaise with customers.
· Managing drivers, compliance and rostering
· Provide highest levels of customer service.
The minimum requirements for this role are
- A sound knowledge of transport operations with at least 5 years work experience in a similar position being highly regarded.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic computer literacy, and an intermediate level of competence with MS Word, Excel and Outlook and a working knowledge of 1-Stop and Container Chain.
- A solid understanding of the container transport industry and the documentation used.
- A sound knowledge of container transport handling methods.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Problem solving techniques.
- Ability to work as part of a team to resolve issues, improve processes and efficiency
- Ability to contribute to the company's profitability through working smarter, with attention to detail and accuracy
