About the Role

Sustainable Salons have an opportunity available to join a purpose-led social impact organisation and shape the role content plays in inbound marketing and customer engagement.

The Content marketing Specialist will play a crucial role in building awareness and engagement in their mission to make every salon experience across Australia and New Zealand a sustainable one.

The ideal candidate will be a passionate, energetic, creative and self-driven content marketer, happy to immerse themself in the industry, spend time with the founders, clients and partners alike to surface stories and deepen engagement. Using data and tools to guide them, they will embrace crafting brand narratives and exploring different content formats to connect with the SSANZ audience.

This role is hybrid, based in Sydney, with a requirement to spend 3 days per month in the Sydney office to connect with the broader team and travel for events where required.

Responsibilities:

  • Get out into the field to capture content by spending time with the founders, clients, partners and at industry events (occasional travel required).
  • Take the existing Content Marketing strategy pillars and amplify them, aligning the planning and production of content to the buyer journey and key audience insights.
  • Build and continually optimise compelling content in different formats across key channels - social media, website, email, member portal…
  • Define and deliver an ongoing content calendar of activity planned around key industry and sustainability events as well as everyday moments.
  • Be a guardian and champion of the brand voice -tone and key messaging.
  • Leverage keyword planning tools in partnership with the Digital Marketing Specialist to identify and action SEO-focused content opportunities.
  • Develop content assets as required for both paid marketing campaign activity and to support the sales and customer success teams outreach efforts.
  • Manage external partners including agencies, creative vendors, social media influencers…
  • Monitor and analyse content performance metrics, using data to guide and prioritise your plan.

  • Enjoys immersing themself in an industry and getting a deep understanding of the audience and what makes them tick.

Content-crazy!

  • 2+ years of Content Marketing experience under your belt, ideally in a B2B space, and are looking for a role that allows you more freedom to flourish.
  • Adept with a range of content development tools - comfortable navigating Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, ChatGPT and video editing platforms.
  • Passionate about Content Marketing - an avid learner on the lookout for new ideas, trends and inspiration to bring into your thinking.

Customer-obsessed

  • Enjoys getting out and about - talking to customers, prospects, partners and the broader community to understand their needs and motivations to guide content strategy.
  • Thinks customer first - what do they care about, not what do we have to offer?
  • On the lookout to champion customers in content and put them at the centre to make them feel special.

Data-driven

  • Thinks in terms of experiments, exploring ways to best engage.
  • Digs into the data to review what’s working and having best impact.
  • Analyse performance metrics and translate insights into prioritised actions.

Innovative thinker

  • A passion for using AI to enhance content skills and hands-on experience using AI tools to assist with content creation.
  • Have a personal interest in sustainability and popular culture
