About the Role
Hastings Deering is on the hunt for a Continuous ImprovementQuality Manager to join our award-winning team in Rockhampton.
This is a Permanent, Monday to Friday role. We are also proud to offer a high level of work life balance through flexible working arrangements.
As a CIQM, you will:
- Assess, advise, coordinate and support all repairs and inspection sign off's in Service Centres
- Adheres to legal standards and ensures and enforces compliance to HDAL & Caterpillar policy
- Ensures company and supplier components are tested and inspected and that technical documentation and manuals required are completed in accordance with Caterpillar and customer specifications.
- Serve as a liaison between respective Service departments, the Area Manager and the Customer to investigate and resolve quality issues and facilitate the proper workflow of information.
- Ensure customer requirements are interpreted and communicated to the team and delivered within the appropriate timeframe, cost and standards.
- Identify areas for improvement in the Parts and Service Operations business model and execute more streamlined and efficient business processes and practices.
- Lead Continuous Improvement projects across the three service departments, within designated time frames, using either Lean Six Sigma or other appropriate improvement methodology.
- Investigation and exploration of new avenues, opportunities, and initiatives to optimise, automate or digitise work completed within Service Operations.
- Collaborate with Parts and Service Managers on concept developments, project planning, task allocation and management of integrated projects.
- Ensure all projects are compliant with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S) Legislation and Company policies
- Proactively steer and champion Improvement and change across Operations, influencing senior and executive stakeholders to elicit support and sponsorship for change programs and projects.
- Engage and collaborate with various stakeholders across the business including but not limited to Facilities, Commercial, Innovation and Service excellence.
- Manage projects as required from time to time which are diverse in nature.

About You
A successful teammate will have experience in:
- Relevant experience in a similar role
- Extensive technical knowledge of steel materials and steel fabrication and repair
- Sound knowledge of the Boilermaking, Welding Standards and NDE processes
- Sound project management experience
- Technical knowledge of Caterpillar produc
