The Company
KPAT Contracting is an owner / developer / builder company that focuses on delivering refurbished or newly constructed contemporary hotels and pub properties within regional Queensland. With multiple pubs and 400 hotel rooms either in operation or under construction, we have a strong forward project book and are continually looking to expand our operations and geographical footprint.
KPAT Contracting is currently undertaking the construction of a 182 room, fully serviced hotel in Mooloolaba on the Sunshine Coast which, once completed, will become part of the KPAT Hotels + Pubs group. The development consists of a 13-storey hotel, including multiple restaurants, a large conferencing and catering facility as well as ancillary operations in retail, and health and wellness.
The Opportunity
As a Contract Administrator at KPAT Contracting, you will play a pivotal role in managing the contractual aspects of our operations. Reporting to the Project Manager and working alongside our construction team members, you will positively contribute to the effective and efficient administration of our subcontractor and supplier contract relationships.
Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Manage and administer commercial construction contracts.
- Negotiate and prepare subcontracts with subcontractors and suppliers.
- Prepare and management project schedules and budgets.
- Forecasting, progress claims and invoicing.
- Monitor and report on project progress.
- Manage and resolve contractual disputes with subcontractors.
- Subcontractor procurement.
- Coordination and design review with consultants.
- Provide support to the project manager.
- Management and coordinate trades on site where required.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must have:
- Proven experience as a Contract Administrator for 5+ years.
- Experience in commercial construction projects valued $30 million + as well as involvement in projects from commencement to practical completion.
- Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or equivalent.
- High level of attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
- Knowledge and understanding of the construction process.
- Experience in hotel and apartment buildings would be highly regarded.
