Period of employment / Hours:

Permanent full-time (76.00 hours per fortnight) day work (part-time hours may be considered by negotiation)

Duties:

Primary Purpose / Focus :

This is an officer role within the Housing Policy and Programs branch, requiring demonstrated ability to support managing contracts with community sector organisations and to work collegially with Homes Tasmania’s partners to support change within Tasmania’s housing and homelessness system.

The Contract Officer, as part of the Housing Support Programs unit, will provide coordination and support in monitoring the performance of service providers, participate in contract negotiations with service providers, and ensure contractual obligations are being met. They will do this by keeping all stakeholders informed and providing timely and accurate advice to senior management and by working closely with service providers.

Skills and experience :

Selection criteria includes:

• Well-developed interpersonal skills, including verbal communication skills, and demonstrated ability to represent Homes Tasmania externally, and ability to build trust and work collaboratively with Homes Tasmania’s partners to maintain productive relationships.
• Well-developed time management skills and the demonstrated ability, both individually and as a member of a team, to plan, organise, set priorities to complete tasks to meet deadlines and achieve established benchmarks and standards.
• Well-developed written communication skills, including attention to detail, and ability to prepare concise and correct written documents that identify relevant issues.

Desirable Requirements:

• Current Driver’s Licence.
• Satisfactory completion of an appropriate course of study from a recognised tertiary institution.
