This large public organisation is seeking a Contract Officer to join their team and provide expert advice and support for procurement activities across various projects and services. This position will be available for an initial 6-month temporary assignment, with the opportunity for extension or permanency after that. You will be responsible for:
- Developing and implementing procurement strategies, tender evaluation plans and reports, and contract management plans
- Preparing and issuing tender and contract documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant policies, standards and regulations
- Conducting tender exercises, bid analysis, post-tender clarification and negotiation, and contract award
- Managing contract administration functions, such as validating insurance requirements, obtaining security deposits, and ratifying long service levy requirements
- Monitoring and reporting on contract performance, identifying and resolving issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Liaising and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders, such as project managers, technical experts, suppliers and contractors
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A degree in procurement, business, law or a related field, or equivalent experience
- Substantial experience in procurement and contract management, preferably in the construction, infrastructure or engineering sectors
- Demonstrated knowledge of contracting concepts, commercial and legal terms
- Excellent communication, negotiation, analytical and problem-solving skills
- High level of attention to detail, accuracy and quality
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, and manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software applications
This position will offer an hourly rate of $55 - $60 per hour + superannuation, a supportive work environment, ongoing training and career development, and flexible work options.
