Covering an area of approximately 300,000 square kilometres and servicing many of the remote communities within North-Western Queensland and the Gulf of Carpentaria, the NWHHS is responsible for the health promotion and wellbeing of people within the service area and ensuring that effective, high quality services are accessible to all.

Base salary: $94,759-$103,102 p.a. (AO5).
Workwise, this role will:

• Provide sound advice and support to the Chief Finance Officer and Executive Management regarding contract procurement and monitoring matters
• To be part of a team that actively contributes to patient safety by following policies, procedures and protocols of the North West Hospital and Health Service
• To support continued improvement of health services by always participating in quality improvement opportunities to excel in patient safety by active contribution to a framework of sound clinical governance.

The North West HHS delivers health services to the communities of North West Queensland, serving a population of around 32,000 people, across one regional hospital, two multipurpose health services, three remote hospitals, four primary health clinics and five community health centres.
Mandatory/Other requirements:

• Nil, however a relevant degree in Business, Law, Commerce or similar field will be well regarded.
• Experience in procurement, tendering and contract management in a large, diverse and complex organisation will be well regarded.
• Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful candidate; this may include criminal history checks and Vaccine Preventable Diseases (VPD) risk role compliance.
• VPD risk roles may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and COVID-19.
• A 3-month period of probation may apply.
