About the Opportunity
Operating from within the Utilities Department, this role will be responsible for strategy, development and implementation of various service and supply agreements to support the provision of safe water, wastewater and gas services across the Western Downs
This role can be based at any of our major regional centres (Dalby/Chinchilla/Miles/Tara or Wandoan).
You will be:
- Providing expert advice on procurement and contract activity including review and development of processes and procedures supporting effective contract administration and management of associated risks;
- Managing and preparing the implementation of new contractual agreements, and analysing existing contractual arrangements offering recommendations, initiatives and strategies for improvement.
- Reviewing, interpreting, and ensuring compliance with legislative changes that may affect areas of service delivery, including legislation that pertain to procurement of materials and services and the Local Government Act;
- Developing value generation strategies, policy development, implementation and delivery of projects
About yourself
A person in this position will need to hold a relevant Diploma of Procurement and Contracting or a Diploma in a related field OR be able to demonstrate equivalent related experience. It is also highly desirable for the successful candidate to have;
- Current C Class Drivers License
- OH&S Construction White Card
- Familiarity with contract management software (preferred)
- Comprehensive knowledge of legal and contractual requirements
- Extensive experience in procurement services within large organisations
