  • Permanent Full Time
  • $86,815 pa + super (up to 12%) + leave loading
    Qld Local Government Industry Award (Stream A) - Level 4 of EBA5
  • 9 day fortnight
  • 72.5 hour fortnight
  • Location: Petrie (relocating to Narangba)

About our opportunity

Our Waste Services team are responsible for 45,000 curbside collections every week across the City of Moreton Bay. As the Technical Officer - Collection Services you'll be focused on the day to day operational activities supporting waste transport contracts, customer requests and contractor liaison for kerbside Collection Services. You'll also be:

  • Working on projects related including Truck Turnarounds, data audits, and problematic residential issues 
  • Supporting contract management deliverables through Council’s procurement lifecycle processes and practices
  • Providing support and technical advice on contract and procurement compliance requirements
  • Preparing reports, briefing notes, submissions and other documentation to support decision-making
  • Working on contract management and administration projects, including auditing and contract payments.
  • Building quality relationships with a range of stakeholders to meet Waste Services deliverables
  • Supporting  the implementation of Council’s Waste Education and Community Engagement Plan, including initiatives and presentations at schools, shopping centers and other public events.

The team are currently based at Petrie and will be moving to the brand new, purpose built Narangba Depot in the coming months.

About you

Your experience in waste and dry waste is the key to success in this role, and you'll bring strong experience in waste and resource recovery contracts management and understanding of contract management principles. You'll also have:

  • A strong focus on the provision of quality customer service.
  • Understanding of delivering outcomes through a project management framework
  • Experience in Enterprise Resource Planning systems and other similar software
  • Current C class driver's licence (required).
