Job description

Sharvain Projects is a dynamic growing construction company predominantly involved in the design, fabrication, installation and project management of high-end glazing and façade projects for commercial building industry.

Company provides comprehensive design and construct solutions for specialized glazing and façade projects. Our head office is in Silverwater (Sydney) and the subsidiaries are in Hong Kong, and Shanghai. Fabrication bases are in Australia and across the Mainland China. Landmark facade projects completed by our teams are well known across Australia and world-wide. 

Recently Sharvain Projects have completed Brookfield Place Commercial Tower above Wynyard Station, the Opera Residences building near Circular Quay and 52 story AMP Tower located at 50 Bridge Street in Sydney CBD.

In 2023, we have completed SMEEP project, 2 Blue Street and Liverpool Civic Place Projects.

Due to increased workload and continuing expansion, we are seeking experienced Contract Managers & Administrators with previous experience or exposure to facades and glazing to join out professional teams.

 General Overview – Contracts / Commercial Manager:

  • Senior Management role with focus on Commercial aspects of all projects, including contracts administration.
  • Monitor costs and as required address contractual project requirements.
  • Set up administration procedures, re-fine contracts management processes including project delivery (handover) procedures.
  • Streamline cost control, ensure progress claims capture site progress, variations, scope changes etc.
  • Establish and maintain high level working relationship with Clients. Monitor construction progress on sites and report weekly, monthly and quarterly / 6 monthly and annually, as required.

Skills & Experience

  • previous experience in similar role
  • exceptional management and people skills
  • exceptional contracts administration and computer skills
  • understanding and use Aconex, iTWOcx etc.
  • understanding of site set ups with Tier 1 building contractors.
  • basic knowledge of construction materials and components used for façade projects.

Specific Job description:

a/ hands on:

  1. A analyze construction process of all current projects, focus on deliverables and cost control, methodologies.
  2. Review project documentation, façade tenders, scope of work, ensure scope compliance.
  3. Become familiar in fine detail on how company operates & current alliances, commercial aspects and current contracts in place.
  4. Liaise with Clients on commercial and contractual aspects throughout project duration.
  5. Liaise with Client on Handovers and scope variations, final account.
  6. Participate in new tenders and presentations to Clients.
  7. Propose / develop alternative scheme to project delivery, considering constrains and availability of personnel; facilitate introduction of formal Project Management / Cost control system.
  8. Set up KPI for employees.
  9. Support Company directors: closely liaise with Financial Controller, Accounts personnel and projects deliver teams.
  10. Attend to client related matters, effectively manage clients with Directors and support from teams.
  11. Participate and take leadership in building the team to support future growth and successful delivery of projects.

b/ managerial – direct teams & oversee, participate as required:

  1. Mange sub-contracts, work closely with the Sharvain and Client teams.
  2. Manage reconciliation of inventories (with accounts and procurement)
  3. Approve the use and monitor usage of site equipment (EWP, scaffolding)
  4. Review Project Budgets
  5. Approve work packages for sub-contractor.
  6. Facilitate information required for progress claims.
  7. Facilitate regular site walks with Clients, attend where required.
  8. Facilitate regular weekly Project Management meetings for each project.
  9. Facilitate project plannings / programming; short- and long-term forward planning, daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, 6 monthly, annually and high at level, including cash flows.

 c/ Business development

  • Provide input and participate in refining of current business model to accommodate for future growth: 
  • Marketing strategy in terms of business positioning & opportunities (focus on green star, smart buildings, building automation)
  • Project and management personnel & company structure
  • Growth transformation of the Company to the next phase
