ABOUT THE ROLE
As our Contracts and Compliance Lead (Senior Contracts Administrator), you'll play an integral part of the infrastructure division by providing strategic advice and contract management that will help drive the best commercial business outcomes across our portfolio of complex projects, leading and managing large contracts throughout the contract life cycle.
You'll rely on your stakeholder management skills so you can navigate a blend of financial, operational, and legal perspectives, ensuring that all requirements are met or exceeded but that contract risks are minimised.
You'll use your technical background and strong level of commercial knowledge to help define and innovate processes, championing continuous improvement by being both service driven and a dynamic communicator, both on paper and in person.
This is a full time, maximum term position for 24 months located at E-Gate Infrastructure Depot, Docklands reporting to the Contract Delivery Manager.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Contract Management: perform contract management tasks, providing guidance to contract managers through tasks such as:
  • Drafting, evaluating, negotiating, and executing contracts covering a broad range of transactions
  • Contract renewal processes, including monitoring deadlines, negotiating terms, and ensuring timely execution.
  • Invoice reconciliation, claim and variations assessment and preparation of contractual notices.
  • Conducting contract meetings and managing, monitoring, and reporting on contractors' performance
  • Contract compliance including compliance with legal, regulatory and company policies.
  • Identify risks associated with contract terms and conditions and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams and external parties for contract-related inquiries where required.

  • Maintain a comprehensive database of all Infrastructure contracts, ensuring documentation is current and accessible
  • Report on contractors' performance and contracts value for money analysis for Infrastructure contract
  • Provide training and guidance to contract managers and administrators on contractual matters and best practices.
ABOUT YOU
  • Bachelor's Degree in Quantity Surveying, law, Commerce, Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all internal and external stakeholders (both written and verbal)
  • Extensive experience in contracts management in heavy civil construction, large infrastructure project environment (rail industry contract management preferred)
  • Understanding of contract law, legal terminologies, contracting principles and ability to translate contractual clauses and obligations for relevant stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of AS4000 and AS2124 and other Australian standard contract suits.
  • Excellent negotiation, analytical and decision making skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience of computer-based reporting systems; contract workspace experience in SAP Ariba desirable.
