About the role
The Contracts Manager is the primary contract performance assurance provider to the Austal ISS business unit. The role ensures adequate business rules, processes and systems are in place, manages identified risks and controls and maximises financial opportunities within the boundaries of contractual T&C’s across all delivery functions to deliver best practice contract performance
Key objectives & responsibilities include:
- Oversee the entire contract lifecycle from initiation to execution, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with various departments, including Legal, Finance, and Operations, to develop and negotiate contracts that meet business objectives.
- Conduct thorough contract reviews, identifying risks and proposing mitigation strategies.
- Manage contract databases and tracking systems to ensure accurate and up-to-date records.
- Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on contract matters, including interpretation of terms and conditions.
Required Skills / Experience / Attributes:
- Proven understanding of contract management
- Degree or equivalent in Business, Law or Commerce
- Contract Management Qualification
- Strong experience in negotiation & conflict resolution complimented by influencing and interpersonal skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to provide technical leadership, whilst building and maintaining strong working relationships within the team and across the business
- Competency in MS Office
- Hold a Construction safety induction (white card)
Desirable:
- A thorough understanding of CASG contract mechanisms
- Degree or equivalent in Supply Chain
- Experience in Supply Chain
- Proven understanding of project management principles
