We are currently seeking a Control Tower Manager to join our team in Melbourne.
Key responsibilities
- Responsible for the daily functions & productivity of the Control Tower including managing both AU and NZ operations ensuring it is in line with country standards
- Bring Continuous Improvements to the operation
- Ensure all KPIs and service requirements of the assigned customer portfolio is achieved and customer inquiries are handled in a timely manner
- Act as the key contact of the company on all operational matters for the assigned customers
- Work alongside the Key Account Manager
- Be able to manage and run the daily calls with the customer
- Be able to manage the quotations requested by the customer
- Vendor / service provider management
- Provide guidance and support to the AU / NZ team members within the Control Tower
- Ensure the smooth and efficient flow of custom clearance transactions through the Control Tower
- Ensure all customer complaints and / or non-conformances are raised and / or responded to
- Provide advice and assistance to our customers on all Trade & Tariff issues in consultation with the VIC Customs Management
- In cooperation with VIC Management, the achievement of budget
- Produce a monthly report to be discussed at monthly management meetings
Skills and experience
- 5 + years experience in a similar role essential
- Knowledge of freight forwarding operations, customs / quarantine clearance and global shipping is essential
- Experience negotiating with clients and suppliers
- Experience in leading teams
- Proficient in MS Word and Excel
