THE OPPORTUNITY
This position plays a leading role in the deployment and support of electrical control systems. This includes
design, documentation, testing and commissioning of materials handling automation hardware and PLC
software. The position also provides opportunities to travel across a number of our customer locations within
ANZ
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
o Providing second level technical support to maintenance team as required
o Conformance to OHS&E standards in the design and execution of all work
o Prepare/assist with budget costing and quoting
o Development of functional specifications
o Complete regular system diagnostics and analysis procedures and provide customer reports
o Preparation of schematic drawings, PLC programs and configuration of SCADA and PLC-related equipment e.g. HMI’s, Scanners, Roller drive-cards and VSD’s.
o Preparation of manufacturing and installation specifications
o Planning and supervision of controls installations
o Oversee the Controls project cost/budget and schedule control
o Report on designed/installed equipment which is not performing to the design specifications
o Testing and commissioning of systems on site, some weekend work is to be expected
o Preparation of test plans and operator & technical manuals
o Training of client personnel and providing customer support
o Assist with interstate or some overseas projects when required

ABOUT YOU
Successful candidates will possess the following skills, qualifications and experience:
o Degree qualified in an engineering or scientific discipline or electrical trade with tertiary qualifications in
o the areas of engineering/electronics/mechatronics.
o Ideally project design and project commissioning experience
o Knowledge of configuration, programming and commissioning of PLCs (Siemens S7 preferred), variable
o speed drives, barcode scanners and safety devices
o Knowledge of SCADA's like ICONICS, CITEC and WINCC
o Knowledge of materials handling system controls is highly desirable such as conveyors and sortation
o systems
o Writing of technical documentation
o Ability to work without supervision and guide teams/projects
o Flexibility to travel interstate, regional areas and overseas
o Excellent verbal and written communication
o Electrical trades licence qualification is highly regarded
