As a Security Systems Support Engineer at Sydney Airport (SYD), you will be a vital member of our Airport Systems team. In this role, you'll be at the forefront of maintaining and enhancing our sophisticated security infrastructure, including Access Control, CCTV, and Passenger Screening systems across all terminals. Your technical acumen and hands-on approach will be crucial in ensuring the seamless operation and continuous improvement of our Security Systems.
SYD invites you to join our Technology, Data, and Digital team as a Security Systems Support Engineer. This 24-month contract offers an invaluable opportunity to contribute to the operational excellence and security of Australia's busiest airport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer and support Honeywell EBI, DVM systems, Lenel, and Milestone CCTV systems, ensuring optimal functionality and reliability.
- Coordinate the management of outsourced Passenger Screening Systems, maintaining high security and efficiency standards.
- Provide comprehensive 1st and 2nd Tier technical support for all Security Systems, including monitoring, supervision, and on-site assistance.
- Engage in User Acceptance Testing, system performance monitoring, and commissioning of new systems or upgrades.
- Collaborate closely with internal teams and external vendors, contributing to technical reviews, project planning, and system deployments.
- Develop and maintain detailed operational and maintenance documentation to support system knowledge and troubleshooting.
- Offer training to security operators on new or updated system components, enhancing operational effectiveness.
- Participate in an on-call roster for after-hours support to address critical incidents, ensuring system integrity and availability.
About you:
- Operational IT experience, with a proven track record in roles requiring a blend of desk-based support and active, on-site technical work.
- Familiarity with security system technologies is highly advantageous, though not mandatory. A willingness to learn and adapt to specific Security Systems used at Sydney Airport is essential.
- Strong problem-solving skills, flexibility, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
