We are looking for a legend with a positive attitude, attention to detail who is hands on and a team player.
We have an established team of skilled legends and a great working environment that is healthy, soulful and supportive. Our head chef is fit, healthy, emotionally sound and kind. No dramas in our kitchen. And none welcome. We all work hard and want to enjoy our day. Strong, capable, emotionally sound and attention to detail & systems is a must... then we can spend more time enjoying life and having trust and faith that we are supported by our collegues.
Our menu is quite simple and most of our staff are able to assist in busy rushes in the kitchen. We are on the beach, so weather effects us... meaning urgent assistance from FOH (and visa versa) is a valuable asset! It's a great set up. Our head chef can jump on service and the coffee machine. We all help and support with a "can do" attitude. You are not too good to clean the bins or bathrooms and if you think you are, wrong place for you haha. The owner is the best dish big you ever met!
We are not a place of hierarchy. You will see the owner jump on dishes and emptying bins when we are busy. We work as a team and we have each others backs. Ideas and inspiration from all team members is welcomed and embraced.
This is a rare and wonderful opportunity to work in a loving environment down on Elwood Foreshore as part of a larger centre which incorporates Yoga, Osteopathically designed functional strength, Infrared Saunas, Massage, Cold Therapy and Recovery (inversion tables etc), Sound Healings, live music, movie nights, Ecstatic dance... you name it! We do all the fun stuff!
Experience with Healthy wholesome food is absolutely advantageous! Minimum 1-2 year experience but the more the better obviously. You need to be able to follow instruction and protocols but also have a brain in your head.
Please note this can be a part time or full time roll... particularly as summer kicks in. Hours will definately be available! We ALWAYS aim to make sure our staff have at least 1 day of the weekend off and 2 consecutive days off. Naturally we cannot always gaurante this and we expect a positive and helpful attitude no matter what. If you live life taking pride in your work and relationships, we are for you! If you scrape through giving as little as possible and just wanting to get paid, our founder will be allergic to you. Passion is our thang!
Our Head Chef is moving back to Italy after Easter so there is an opportunity for promotion.
As part of the Kitchen team you are expected to:
• Take care of the people on your team
• Note when stock is low & in need of ordering
• Meet daily KPI's & inspire team to do the same
• Minimise Waste
• Nurture the customer experience
• Keep the cafe area clean & tidy
• Lias with Head Chef (your creative input is welcome)
• Present food with pride, love and care. Serve as you would want to be served!
