A bit about the role

The Coordinator Arboriculture provides a high level of arboriculture advice, support, and customer service by co ordinating the delivery of Council’s tree maintenance programs to enhance the City of Casey’s current and future urban forest.

You will be joining a growing and enthusiastic team with the aim of growing and improving our tree population.

What you’ll deliver 

• Ensure the efficient, safe, and compliant delivery of Council’s reactive tree maintenance, Cyclic tree maintenance electric line clearing and programs.
• Assessment of internal planning referrals. 
• Oversee reactive and proactive tree management contracts.
• Develop and coordinate works programs and provide specialised advice for Council’s urban forest.
• Coordinate cyclical tree audits, audit programs and OHS inspections of contractors.
• Resolve on-site matters and approve appropriate corrective strategies.
• Provide advice or reports on Council tree matters including works and development applications to internal and external stakeholders (including Councilors, contractors, and staff)
• Build strong networks to identify and develop urban forest management strategies and programs.

What you’ll bring 

• Diploma in Arboriculture or other related fields. Certificate 3 Arboriculture plus industry experience may be taken into consideration.
• High level of interpersonal skills enabling clear communication with residents.
• Capacity to work with and adapt to various information technology systems.
• Must have a current driver’s license.
• Willingness to undergo pre-employment background checks including National Criminal History Check, Working with Children Check and Eligibility to Work check.
