Form of workThis role will promote high quality and effective management of legislative, regulatory and best practice compliance obligations related to the delivery of water services by the section.
The role will lead the team to promote the consistent application of legislation, policies, strategies, management plans, process and reporting requirements to ensure the effective, efficient, and sustainable delivery of water services.
The role will coordinate the identification and mitigation of compliance risks and issues in accordance with Council’s risk management framework for projects, programs and operations delivered by the water services section and make informed recommendations to management.
To be successful in this role you will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, sustainability, environmental science, or related field along with substantial experience in the environmental services field (e.g. regulatory, consultancy, agency, corporate, local government), including project management and operations management. Qualifications in Training and Assessment is desirable as the role will coordinate an amount of internal compliance training.
You will have previous experience in a supervisory role managing teams and experience in coaching and mentoring staff. You will have excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise workloads and aim for continuous improvement and have the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.
