  • LGO 7 (ET scale may apply) ($100,884 - $120,307 per annum + superannuation) based on skills, qualifications and experience

About the Role

This role will promote high quality and effective management of legislative, regulatory and best practice compliance obligations related to the delivery of water services by the section.

The role will lead the team to promote the consistent application of legislation, policies, strategies, management plans, process and reporting requirements to ensure the effective, efficient and sustainable delivery of water services.

The role will coordinate the identification and mitigation of compliance risks and issues in accordance with Council’s risk management framework for projects, programs and operations delivered by the water section and make informed recommendations to management.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have a bachelor's degree or equivalent in engineering, sustainability, environmental science, or related field along with substantial experience in the environmental services field (e.g. regulatory, consultancy, agency, corporate, local government), including project management and operations management. Qualifications in Training and Assessment is desirable as the role will coordinate an amount of internal compliance training.

You will have previous experience in a supervisory role managing teams and experience in coaching and mentoring staff. You will have excellent organisational skills, ability to prioritise workloads and aim for continuous improvement and have the ability to communicate effectively to both internal and external stakeholders.

You will have a sound understanding of and ability to interpret relevant legislation, standards and codes of practice and contractual requirements relating to environmental management and experience developing and communicating fact-based business cases and presentations (articulating financial & non-financial risks and opportunities). You will need strong analytical and data management skills.
