A bit about our role
The Marketing & Communications Coordinator is an integral member of the Strategic Communications & Customer Experience division responsible for the execution and evaluation of marketing strategies and brand awareness in support of the City’s Strategic Community Plan. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the communications and marketing team. This includes, developing the City of Canning Council brand, highlighting the value of Council services and projects through different mediums; and building strong internal and external working relationships.
In this role, you will undertake duties such as:
- Manage the strategic direction of the work unit, providing clear direction
- Support the development and delivery of the City’s Marketing & Communications framework
- Lead social media and other online communications
- Collaborate closely with and provide high-level advice to business units for both internal and external communications projects
- Lead a talented team of Marketing & Communications professionals
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations or related
- Substantial marketing, communications and/or public relations experience
- Experience leading a team of high-performing professionals
- Proven communication skills including the ability to influence and negotiate
- Exceptional written skills for drafting communications, media releases, reports and plans
- Proven experience delivering marketing and communications plans and strategies
