Job Description
Under broad direction, the Coordinator, Network and Security:
- Is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Department’s security and network functions.
- Ensures security and network activities are completed in the most effective and cost effective manner.
- Is responsible for the formulation and implementation of best practice policies across the network.
- Develops, tests and implements plans and scripts to check load generation across the network.
- Provides specialist technical expertise with respect to IT Network and Security and contributes to the strategic planning for all associated telecommunications.
- Contributes to associated improvements to security and network procedures, processes and systems.
- Supports the Manager, Technology and Security in the planning, development, installation and configuration of the department’s IT systems and coordination of relevant working groups.
Applicants should address the following three (3) criteria. These should be addressed in no more than three (3) pages in total. * Working experience in exploring various possibilities and generate innovative open standard based solutions relating to telecommunication and Security.
- Demonstrated ability to apply lateral thinking to generate ideas and innovative solutions in a complex environment, utilising best practice principles, methods and processes related to contemporary Network and Security issues.
- Working knowledge of some or all the following:
- Cisco, Meraki, Microsoft, AWS networking and Security technologies.
- ISO 27000, ACSC Essential 8, ISM, NIST security standards.
- Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL).
