About the Role
The Strategy and Policy Coordination Branch provides high level support and advice to the organisation in driving the strategic direction of Council, overseeing the delivery of corporate planning, performance and Reporting priorities as well as building key internal and external relationships and funding partnerships.
The Coordinator Planning and Reporting supports the development and implementation of the integrated Planning and Reporting framework, including drafting of the corporate plan and operational plans and associated reporting that incorporate best practice research to effectively embed into prioritisation and resource allocation.
Key responsibilities include:
- Coordinate and draft the corporate and operational plans in consultation with key stakeholders, including the Council, Executive Leadership Team, broader leadership and as informed by community engagement activities.
- Develop, monitor and review integrated Planning and Reporting frameworks and processes, including benchmarking to ensure Council maintains contemporary practices and has effective approaches to align Planning and resourcing.
- Undertake an annual review of council’s operating environment, including consideration of global, national and regional risks and opportunities to inform Council priorities and resource allocation.
- Design, deliver and embed community engagement activities that inform corporate Planning and resource allocation processes.
- Coordinate and deliver high quality corporate reports, including the quarterly and annual reports.
This position is based at the Sunshine Coast City Hall, in the heart of Maroochydore CBD. This state of the art and sustainable building is designed to achieve an innovative and collaborative workspace.
About you
As a Coordinator in Planning and Reporting you will be an exceptional communicator with outstanding writing skills and proven experience drafting public facing documents such as strategies, corporate plans and policies.
You will possess knowledge of integrated Planning and Reporting frameworks with demonstrated competence in establishing approaches to align strategic outcomes and prioritise delivery in a large entity.
You will have demonstrated excellent research skills with a proven ability to think logically, creatively and laterally to implement practical approaches and lead positive change.
As a requirement of this role, you will have formal tertiary qualification and equivalent experience in Strategic Management, Business, Commerce, Public Administration or other relevant subject matter.
