About the Role
The position is responsible for the effective leadership of the Traffic & Transport teams to deliver a complex work program in a timely manner to meet community needs. The Traffic & Transport team is responsible for the planning of safe and connected transport, traffic and road safety infrastructure and initiatives to meet the needs of our community now and into the future.
Reporting to the Team Leader – Traffic & Transport the core responsibilities include:
- Provide timely and specialist advice to Council on Traffic & Transport issues and initiatives.
- Provide leadership and coaching to the Traffic & Transport north/south teams through efficient management and co-ordination of human resources.
- Assist with the capabilities of Traffic & Transport staff through appropriate staff development opportunities, recruitment and performance monitoring.
- Provide recommendations and solutions and actions within budgetary constraints resulting from traffic engineering investigations from customer requests and proactive initiatives.
- Facilitate a culture of customer service and continuous improvement.
- Provide advice on policies and procedures to deliver best practice Traffic & Transport planning and services in response to identified community need.
About You
- Civil Engineering Degree or equivalent.
- Strong Leadership and development capabilities.
- Traffic, transport or road safety engineering experience in State
- Government or Local Government (minimum 10 years).
