The Opportunity
We are looking for an ambitious future business leader who seeks to be part of a fast paced and transformational environment. Key responsibilities
Tax
- Preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual tax reporting requirements (Fringe Benefit Tax, Corporate Income Tax, GST, Withholding Tax and Transfer Pricing) and working closely with senior staff, Finance Manager and external tax consultants to lodge on a timely basis
- Research and consult with Finance Manager on tax matters and liaise with Australia Taxation Office and ASIC for and/or transformational projects related to tax
Accounting
- Preparation of quarterly reporting deliverables and annual financial statements with senior staff and working with Finance Manager on liaisons with Head Office, external auditors and local authorities
- Preparation and completion of monthly reporting requirements (balance sheet and profit/loss) with offshore team, senior staff and Finance Manager on a timely manner
- Prepare analytical data for discussion and investigation with Corporate Planning and Accounting
- Support the external audit process which includes the preparation of audit workpapers and addressing audit inquiries
- Business partnering with key stakeholders on P/L related inquiries and support key stakeholders in planning and developing business goals
- Manage operational activities with key stakeholders such as daily sales report analytics, transactions review (cash, bank and credit card) and store cashflow (floats, sales cash and petty cash)
- Partnering with various stakeholders to support other functions as necessary (accounts receivable, accounts payable and Treasury)
Transformation
- Working with Finance team and offshore team to optimise, assess and implement robust process flows and controls for financial and operational requirements
- Working in a team to drive key transformative projects and system implementations
Skills and Experience
- Degree in Accounting, Tax or similar with strong analytical skills with a minimum of 2 years of experience in audit, accounting or tax
- CA or CPA qualified or working towards this qualification
- Experience or willingness to learn and improve their knowledge on IFRS, fringe benefit tax, corporate income tax, transfer pricing, withholding Tax and GST
- Experience in the use of SAP (preferred but not required)
- Strong attention to detail and is able to work independently when needed
- Ability to work with local team and offshore team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a demonstrated track record of building relationships with key internal stakeholders
- Retail sector is preferred but not required
