As the Corporate Accountant, you will be responsible for overseeing vital accounting functions, managing transactions, compiling crucial reports, evaluating data, and ensuring that our accounting practices are in line with industry regulations and standards.
A typical workday involves:
- Assist with the day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations and month end journals and accruals.
- Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
- Balance sheet reconciliations for the group.
- Review and approve payroll.
- Review, compile and submit statutory lodgements such as BAS (including fuel tax credit reconciliation), FBT, Income Tax Return, and any other statutory requirements.
- Prepare accurate and timely financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
- Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes.
- Ensure compliance with accounting principles, standards, and regulation.
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of accounting systems and procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
- Provide support to other departments regarding financial matters and participate in cross-functional projects as needed.
About You:
To be considered for this role, we will be looking for the following attributes:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field - CA or CPA certification preferred.
- 5 years’ experience as an accountant or similar role, preferably in a large organisation. environment.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare meaningful reports.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
