The Role

The purpose of this position is to contribute to and execute MDA National's Corporate Communications Strategy (internal and external), using effective, clear and engaging storytelling across both traditional and online platforms. In this role, you will be able to translate complex messages into easy to understand and creative communications, ensuring that brand messaging is aligned to MDA National's purpose and vision.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Superior personal communication skills, both written and verbal
• Superior organisational and time management skills
• Superior proof reading and editing skills
• An understanding of brand tone of voice and associated guidelines
• The ability to work across organisational and geographic boundaries developing good working reationships with internal and external stakeholders
• The ability to perform autonomously
• Proactive with strong attention to detail
• High proficiency in computer skills
• Experience writing media releases and managing relationships with media
• Health industry knowledge advantageous
• Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Journalism, Communications or related discipline

Key Deliverables and Responsibilities

Corporate Communications (content creation and coordination)

• Content coordination and copywriting for Corporate Communications as directed or according to project brief - emails, web, print and social media channels
• Project coordination of MDA National's annual report - working closely with internal departments to gather all data and content, copywriting and liaising with an external graphic designer
• Supporting the championing of the MDA National brand internally and externally
• Enhance, improve and maintain positive internal communications with fellow staff across all departments (internal comms)
• Maintaining tone of voice in all Corporate Communications (both internal and external)
• Supporting the MDA National brand approval process in relevant written communications - proof read and edit drafted content and provide feedback to internal and external stakeholders
• Assisting with the development and management of briefing materials for creative projects and visual content (e.g. video content)
• Undertake regular reviews of competitor communications

Brand Reputation support

• Support the National Manager, Corporate Affairs & Communication with media activity and press materials as required
• Coordinate PR / Issues management communications to MDA National industry partners as directed
• Research, develop and present opportunities to increase brand awareness in market via various communication channels

Environment and Social Impact Partnerships

• Design and implement a communications plan (covering various channels) in support of the overarching ESG approach
• Leverage all opportunities in MDAN's social and environmental impact partnerships to tell 'good news' stories, increasing the awareness of the MDA National brand in market
• Regular reviews and updates to relevant stakeholders on all impact partnerships communications
