About the Opportunity

As part of the Governance Team the Corporate Governance Officer will coordinate and determine Freedom of Information requests, lead Council’s insurance claims process and provide support as required to the broader Corporate Governance team.

Some of the day-to-day things you’ll be responsible for include:

  • Assessing and determining Freedom of Information (FOI) applications as an accredited FOI Officer.
  • Supporting the management of the Council’s insurance portfolio including analysis and reporting requirements and leading the claims process.
  • Managing the renewal process for registered business names of the Council.
  • Facilitating Governance advice to the organisation on queries received; and assisting with external enquiries from the Ombudsman and OPI.

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Accreditation as an FOI Officer
  • Extensive experience in providing a broad range of administrative support services.
  • Experience in claims management processes.
  • Strong organisational skills, the ability to successfully manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to display a high level of verbal and written communication skills with the ability to foster and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
