Cost Accountant

With humble beginnings hosting cruises on the Great Barrier Reef, the company has grown into a borderless fleet of three ships carrying between 72 and 120 guests. For four decades, Coral Expeditions has operated with a single purpose – to take small groups of likeminded explorers to remote places with expert guidance and warm Australian hospitality. In 2023, we have returned to international sailings including New Zealand, Japan, Papua New Guinea, and Islands of Indonesia. 

The role

In this role, you will work closely with the Management Accountant and Financial Controller to monitor and review costs and prepare reports on analysis.  This includes:

• Reviewing the stock movements on board the ships and tracking departmental KPI’s;
• Overall responsibility for producing costing reports and analysis;
• Identify cost trends and effect of improvement initiatives for the company;
• Prepares monthly report, including cost analytics;
• Preparation of adhoc analytical reports to support business initiatives and budget/forecast preparation.

What we are looking for

If our role interests you and you are able to demonstrate the following:

• At least 1-2 years of professional experience with a strong cost focus;
• Absolute proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint;
• Highly organised and detail-oriented individual.
