Your new companyOur client is amongst the world’s top producers of major commodities including iron ore, metallurgical coal, copper and uranium. They extract and process minerals, oil and gas from its production operations located primarily in Australia and the Americas.
Your new role
Your primary function is to assist with the cost planning and controlling of site related activities including review of Implementation Contractor report and performance.
Your responsibilities:
Set-up, implement, maintain and manage PMO Project WBSSet-up, implement, maintain and manage a monthly reporting plan, not just for Cost Control but the overall PMO reports. Ensure/facilitate effective report compilation, analysis and sign off by PMO Project LeadsEnsure the effective implementation and use of project cost control system (EcoSys/CMS)Set-up, implement and maintain an Earned Value management systemAssure cost related information including analysis of deviations from budget is communicated to PMO Project LeadsEnsure that Implementation Contractor issues their Monthly Report on time and in accordance with the reporting calendarAssure accuracy and timeliness of data collection for cost measurementSupports preparation of overall cost report analysis for the Project Leads’ monthly progress reportReview change proposals for completeness and adequacy of costsAssure proper implementation of changes into control budget & forecast via change management processEnsure that cost actual and forecast report is reflective of updated schedule’s actual and forecastManage payment processes from purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoice receipting to paymentsSupports contingency drawdown analysis for project management teamAssist in the development and implementation of improved cost control techniques and methodsConduct and report on project cost risk analysesSupports BHP finance team with all budgetary & forecasting provisionsEstablish liaison with the financial control personnel in order to avoid unnecessary duplication of effort and to maximise the effective use of resources What you'll need to succeed Demonstrated experience working in a similar role, preferably in complex mining construction projectsDemonstrated experience with cost estimating, cost control and cost risk analysis systemsDemonstrated experience in cost control across a major multidiscipline engineering & construction projectA detail-oriented senior Cost Controller who proactively communicates with stakeholders and keep them informedExposure to multi-discipline projects and use of project control systemsConfidence in interpreting engineering and contractor provided documentationsUnderstanding of project control principles (CPM, SPI, CPI)Tertiary qualification in Engineering, Project Management or construction related field is desirable.What you'll get in return
