Your role
As a Court Officer in the NSW Sheriff's Office, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day operational support within a functioning fast paced courtroom environment.
This includes but is not limited to:
- Data entry
- Courtroom support
- Jury support
- Management and the facilitation of courtrooms
Please note that the Court Officer role involves exposure to graphic content, including images, photographs and discussions relating to violence, sexual assault and/or homicide matters.
At the NSW Sheriff's Office, we conduct law enforcement, security, and support activities to ensure the safe and successful operation of State Courts. We also administer the NSW jury service system, a massive operation which involves more than 200,000 citizens each year. More than 400 specially trained sheriff's officers, Court Officers and clerical staff are employed at 58 sheriff's offices across the state.
What we're looking for
- Strong communication skills
- Exceptional data entry skills
- Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities and work in different jurisdictions and court locations
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Ability to maintain the confidentiality and the integrity of the Court and the jury process
- Ability to pass Pre-Employment checks (National Criminal History Check & reference checks)
