Homelessness Melbourne Metro is committed to providing person-centred care, trauma informed practice and a strengths-based approach to improve the health, wellbeing and housing outcomes for people experiencing homelessness.

Service profile
The Homelessness Melbourne Metro region is a large Homelessness provider in the inner city of Melbourne and provides a comprehensive range of residential & community services across six sites in St Kilda, Footscray, North Melbourne, West Melbourne & Kensington.

Community programs include the Crisis Contact Centre, Community Outreach Services for single adults, support for older people in public housing, rough sleeper & street sleeping initiatives, community participation and AOD support.

Residential services operate from Foley House in Footscray, the Open Door in North Melbourne and Flagstaff in West Melbourne. Homelessness Melbourne Metro is supported by co-located services including the TSA Chaplaincy program, Bolton Clarke primary health service and NDIS support coordination.

Your role
The St Kilda Crisis Centre offers a twenty-four-hour, State-wide crisis response to people at risk of and experiencing primary homelessness. The service provides drop-in support from 9am until 11pm each day of the year and a telephone-based response 24/7.

The St Kilda Crisis Centre is a high-volume service, that provides assistance to single adults and families at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness. Assistance may include financial assistance for emergency housing, food vouchers, material aid, information, advocacy, and planning, as well as referral to specialist supports in relation to housing, family violence, alcohol and other drug use and mental health.

This is a permanent part-time position for 4 shifts per week (average 26 hours), across a range of shifts which are currently available including daytime, after hours and nights. Shift patterns will be negotiated in advance and applicants should be aware that St Kilda Crisis Centre undergoing a service review which may recommend a change in shift patterns.
