WHO WE ARE:
Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is a volunteer-based emergency service. Our highly skilled and equipped Volunteers are trained comprehensively in a wide range of emergency environments. To minimise the impact of emergencies when they occur and strengthen the community's capacity to recover swiftly and safely, VICSES focuses on working with communities and partners in building resilience to achieve more aware, informed and prepared communities. We support them to understand their risk and the relevance of taking action before, during and after emergency events.
As the largest road rescue network in Australia we have specialist teams that provide a 24/7 response to road accident and trauma incidents. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important role in supporting the Country Fire Authority (CFA), Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV), Parks Victoria and the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action (DEECA) during major bushfire and emergency incidents.
ROLE SUMMARY:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced professional to join our team as a Critical Assets Support Officer. This role will play a crucial part in supporting the Critical Assets Manager in the development of new assets, quality assurance checks of newly built assets, supporting the procurement activities and delivering and induction our volunteers on the use of new assets. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in the fleet or heavy vehicle sector, coupled with strong administrative skills.
Requirements:
Hands-on experience and knowledge in the fleet or heavy vehicle sector
Competent in general administrative office tasks
Preferable have experience in procurement or quality assurance
Strong communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders
Flexibility and a solution-focused approach to problem-solving.
Ability to deliver specific outcomes within defined time and resource constraints
This position is a non-operational role, emphasising a flexible approach and a commitment to delivering results within specified constraints. The successful candidate must be available to deliver new assets across the state which will likely include overnight stays and on occasions will be required to work outside regular business hours, to undertake asset inductions and attend workshops and taskforces.
