Crop Care Technician - Medicinal Cannabis Cultivation

Join ECS Botanics, a leader in Australian Medicinal Cannabis, at our operation near Kerang/Swan Hill, Victoria. ECS is expanding and we are looking for two full time Crop Care Technicians to add to our current team. We pride ourselves on our commitment to sustainability, are organic certified and practice regenerative farming principles.

By joining ECS you will be part of a high energy team engaged in the production and maintenance of our Medicinal Cannabis crops, performing tasks assigned by the senior Crop Care Technicians or the Cultivation Manager/Supervisor. These activities range from soil preparation, propagation, and cultivation through to harvesting. 

ECS produces high quality medicnal cannabis flower which is sold in Australia, New Zealand and Europe. 
 

Key Responsibilities (Including but not limited to)

• You will be paired with a Senior Crop Care technician to assist them in their responsibilities as you develop your skills.
• You will conduct comprehensive plant care tasks such as propagation, planting, trellising, pruning, fertigation, pest scouting/management, housekeeping and harvesting functions.
• You will assist in daily watering, feeding and plant maintenance schedules as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the greenhouses.
• As ECS has both greenhouse and outdoor cultivation you will also be required to assist with outdoor cutivation activities.
• You may also be required to record on-line and manual data in an electronic tablet.

Qualifications /Attributes / experience 

• You will have a horticulture degree or diploma.
• You will be a reliable, fit and proper person able to provide a police clearance required to work in the Medicinal Cannabis Industry. 
• You will be energetic, positive, happy to work in diverse teams with a passion to learn new skills. 
• You will have experience in Microsoft office tools and using tablets.
• To be successful you will need to have a  keen interest in organic and regenerative farming principles and enjoy working outdoors with plants.
• You will have a valid Driver’s licence 
• Horticulture experience is not required.
   

Physical demands of the role require: 

Many activities are undertaken outdoors and require physical work in a typical farm environment in varying weather conditions typical of the Mallee region.
