JOB PURPOSE AND SCOPE

If you want your next role to be a mixture of admin + face-to-face Customer Service within a brand new student accommodation in Melbourne CBD, this is the place for you!!

In this diverse and multi-faceted role, you will play a critical role in the business, ensuring our residents are happy, processes are complete and our high presentation standard is met. You will also assist with daily operational tasks and ensure The Switch brand is brought to life through delivering an exceptional customer experience to our community, guests, and customers.

  • Fluent in Mandarin is highly desirable but not mandatory
  • Role is highly admin focused with elements of front line Customer Service. A passion for admin and good attention to detail is required for this role.
  • Full time role (38 hours per week).
  • 8 hour shifts would occur between the hours of 9am and 7pm (we do not have a 24/7 reception service)

ABOUT THE SWITCH

The Switch have redefined accommodation as it’s currently known, with a focus on bringing the outside world in to achieve heightened community experiences. Our residents can embed themselves in the community when they want it, whilst also indulging in utter privacy when they need it. Together with our authentic and progressive attitude, we drive innovation and craft meaningful experiences to provide a new kind of all-inclusive lifestyle for the young generation.

The 28-storey student accommodation property located at 198 A’Beckett St is the first Switch asset to open in Melbourne, with properties in Perth and Adelaide opening earlier this year. Situated just five minutes’ walk from Queen Victoria Markets, the tower boasts an outdoor rooftop on level 28 offering panoramic views of Melbourne Northside. Other common areas include a staffed gym, theatre, event space, café, pop-up stores, communal kitchen, laundry, honesty kitchen and outdoor terraces. 

This is a student accommodation building that is home to approximately 650 students which opened in February 2023.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work closely with The Switch Team to provide exceptional brand led customer experience.
  • Conduct administrative and operational tasks to ensure maximum efficiency in service delivery.
  • Assist with the CRM, payment system, property viewings and sales lifecycle.
  • Be a part of the front line Customer Service team who are the face of the business and are the first point of contact for our residents (university students).
  • Perform administration tasks on a daily basis. This may include auditing, basic data analysis, etc.
  • Review, develop and implement administration and technical systems procedures and practices to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Review and complete all rental document processes, including but not limited to leases and reference checks.
  • Receive and handle all communication from internal and external parties, including on social media platforms.
  • Assist with ensuring the common areas and apartments are kept to a high standard.
  • Work collaboratively to understand customer needs, problems, interests and potential ways to succeed.
  • Nurture and build solid relationships with our community members and partners.
  • Liaise with our members to ensure their Switch experience is exceptional. This may include organising, promoting, and conducting events and pop ups.
  • Other duties as required

 SKILLS/EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a positive attitude and a can-do approach to work and life. Team culture is of high importance to us and we want people who bring positivity and energy.
  • Fluent in Mandarin is highly desirable but not mandatory
  • Must enjoy admin and enjoy being flexible in the workplace. In this role, there is a good blend of focused admin work as well as dynamic face-to-face Customer Service.
  • Must have confidence in using various platforms such as customer management systems. We will provide all the training required, but you will want to be comfortable using different systems.
  • Have a process-oriented mindset with a keen eye for detail.
  • Have the ability to exercise initiative and judgement, to demonstrate self-sufficiency and flexibility, deal with conflicting and varied demands and have attention to detail.
  • Be comfortable with technology and how it is integrated into your day-to-day work.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to communicate and interact positively with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • The ability to multitask, work unsupervised and proactively to meet targets and timelines.
  • Ability to connect and engage with our core customer, generation Z.
  • Have a high level of enthusiasm and energy and be a self-starter with a positive mindset.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills in order to be able to prioritise work and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to uphold best practice objectives while strictly adhering to relevant legislation.
