About Property, Facilities and Development
The Property, Facilities and Development (PFD) team works across all of Flinders' places, spaces, and physical infrastructure. Working to four key areas: Strategic Planning and Sustainability; Capital Development; Customer and Site Services; and Strategic Projects, we are responsible for the planning, development, capital delivery, management, and maintenance of university spaces to ensure they are fit for purpose and support Flinders to deliver its strategic objectives.
The Facilities Team is responsible for delivering facility operations across the University to support the health, wellbeing, and physical safety of Flinders University students, staff, and visitors. This includes at our Flinders Living Precinct which accommodates over 500 students living on campus at University Hall and Deirdre Jordan Village.
About the Role
The Customer Support Officer is responsible for providing a seamless customer experience for a range of internal and external stakeholders electronically, over the telephone, and face to face across Flinders University. The Customer Support Officer will undertake a range of administrative activities to support the delivery of services and participate in the ongoing development of customer service standards.
This role provides a fantastic opportunity to learn and develop on the job, expand your problem-solving and organisational skills while working collaboratively within the Customer Service team.
Some of the key responsibilities include:
- Providing a quality first point of contact for customers with enquiries, queries or requests, relating to parking, transport, cleaning or anything else relating to Property, Facilities and Development.
- Following up and compassionately dealing with complaints to ensure positive outcomes.
- Participating in the ongoing development and refinement of customer service standards, strategies and systems to facilitate continuous improvement and best practice in customer service delivery.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will be a reliable and adaptable team player who has a can-do attitude. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, allowing you to provide engaging support and create positive outcomes to enquiries. You will approach work productively and cooperatively, be a problem-solver and look to grow and improve service standards, strategies and systems within the Customer Service Team.
As the Customer Service Officer, you will also demonstrate:
- Excellent organisational and administrative skills including demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks, work well under pressure, attention to detail and an ability to meet deadlines.
- Willingness to learn new skills and to approach daily tasks enthusiastically, particularly when interacting with others.
- Ability to apply good listening and interpreting skills inclusive of customer needs.
