About the Role:

As a Data Analyst within our established Asset Management team, you will apply data science principles to the execution of critical data receipt, conversion, standardisation, analysis and delivery tasks. • Data manipulation and processing to produce data outputs that align with established structures, formats and templates
  • Configuration of software to support both our field-based and office-based data capture teams
  • Liaising closely with project managers to understand specific project requirements, and developing data processing scripts/tools to deliver against those requirements
  • Working with geospatial data formats and applying common geoprocessing concepts (snapping, buffering, clipping, etc) – on the job training and mentoring is offered
  • Executing assigned tasks independently in a structured and methodical way with a high attention to detail and a focus on consistent and accurate outputs
  • Attendance at regular team meetings to ensure relevant scope, objectives and specifications are commonly understood across the team
  • Adherence to the Talis Integrated Management System for quality and WHS processes

About you:

  • Qualification or relevant industry experience in the field of Data Science
  • Experience in the use of Extract, Translate and Load (ETL) software and tool (e.g. FME, R-studio, etc)
  • Proven track record of producing high quality and reliable data outputs
  • A structured approach to self-checking and quality assurance of data outputs
  • Willingness to understand broader project requirements, and develop data reporting structures that align
  • The ability to identify process improvements through automation
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work within project teams
  • The ability to work independently and prioritise workload in a service-driven environment of competing demand drivers
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; the ability to build trust and rapport with co-workers
  • A structured, clear-thinking approach to the execution of tasks
  • Experience working with GIS tools (e.g. QGIS) and geospatial data types would be viewed favourably

Why you should work for Talis:
