About the Role:
Are you a highly skilled data & analytical leader with a passion to drive the data strategy & roadmap and not afraid to get your hands dirty exploring data. You'll be the go-to person for managing our data processes, crunching numbers, and presenting actionable insights. With your expertise in SQL Server, Qlik Sense, and SSAS (SQL Server Analysis Services), you'll play a crucial role in shaping our data strategy, optimising reporting, and empowering the teams with data-driven solutions.
Your key responsibilities will include the following:
- Develop and implement a kickass Data Analytics strategy that aligns with our goals. Make sure insights reach stakeholders accurately and on time. Oversee the development and maintenance of BI solutions (data marts, reporting tools, dashboards).
- Become the subject matter expert on systems and processes. Interrogate and validate data from various sources using SQL Server. Uncover trends, perform analysis, and generate insights that make a difference.
- Use Qlik Sense and other reporting tools to design interactive dashboards, reports, and visualisations that make data easy to understand and act upon.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into analytical solutions that hit the mark.
- Establish data governance standards, ensuring data integrity, security, and compliance. Work with the data engineering team to optimize pipelines.
- Engage with stakeholders at all levels, understand their needs, and present findings and recommendations that win hearts and minds.
- Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in data management and reporting. Look for ways to optimise processes and bring innovation to the table.
- Promote the use of data and insights in decision-making processes. Rally the troops and collaborate with stakeholders to ensure everyone's on board.
- Develop and monitor KPIs to measure data and reporting effectiveness. Keep stakeholders in the loop with regular reports and updates.
To be successful you will ideally have the following:
- Experience in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to handle multiple workstreams
- You have a track record of driving change and fostering a data-driven culture.
- You understand data governance, quality management, and compliance best practices.
- Leading and coaching of direct reports (data analyst).
- Demonstrated 5+ years of experience in a mixed skill set of BI Analyst, Data Specialist/BA with experience in SQL data warehouse environment and proficiency with SQL queries.
- Highly experience in data visualisation, report or dashboard design, or data analysis and reporting, performance reporting and monitoring.
- Ability to think innovatively, analyse and conceptualise problems, convey ideas, concepts and issues, and formulate solutions in a clear, innovative and resourceful manner.
- You've got a knack for understanding business requirements, communicating effectively, and building strong relationships across departments.
- You excel at problem-solving, extracting insights from complex datasets, and presenting them clearly and concisely.
- Knowledge of retail metrics highly desirable.
- Familiarity with SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) and OLAP concepts
- Experience in ETL, data cleansing, data discovery and analytics tools.
- Experience in Azure Data Warehouse, Data Lake and Data Factory desirable.
- A result oriented and ownership mindset to drive deliverables to completion.
- Demonstrated experience in breaking down complex problems and projects into manageable goals.
