Data Governance Manager - Brisbane / Sydney

The Execs, have recently been taken on a journey to understand the value and necessity behind strong Data Governance and are completely behind supporting the continued drive of these key initiatives throughout the group.
Position Overview: Data Governance Manager
Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement a robust Data Governance framework to ensure data quality, integrity, and security across the organization.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Cyber, Technology, Risk and Privacy to establish and enforce Data Governance policies and procedures.
• Oversee the creation and running of data forums
• Work closely with IT and business units to identify and address data quality issues, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Aligning with Projects and BAU to ensure alignmnent to Data Governance policy
• Develop and deliver training programs to raise awareness and promote a culture of Data Governance across the organization
• Act as a liaison between business stakeholders, IT teams, and external partners to align Data Governance practices with business objectives.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; advanced degree or certification in data management or related discipline is a plus. Specifically DAMA.
• Proven experience as a Data Governance Manager within the financial services sector.
• In-depth knowledge of Data Governance principles, data management best practices, and regulatory requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear business terms.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.
• Demonstrated leadership and project management skills.
